Canadian Oral Health Strategy 2005-10
In 2005, the FPTDWG developed Canada’s first national oral health strategy, with
measurable goals, strategies to meet the goals and timelines. Most of the goals of this
Canadian Oral Health Strategy were achieved. To view the document, click here.
Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS)
In 2001, the FPTDWG teamed up with Health Canada and Dr. David Locker of the
University of Toronto to develop a set of oral health questions for the Canadian
Community Health Survey. The questions included a set of ‘core’ questions that appear
on every CCHS, and an optional set that individual provinces can request to have
included on their set of data.
Report to The Commission on the Future of Health Care in Canada
In 2002 the FPTDWG submitted a report to The Commission on the Future of Health Care
in Canada (the Romanow Commission) on ‘Oral Health: Its Place in a Sustainable Health
Care System for Canadians’. A representative of the group also presented at one of the
cross Canada hearings of the Commission. To view the report, click here.
